Stick wit u

Little things in book stores/supply stores make me perky.

I’d like to think that I have a love affair with Post-its. For me, Art Fry and Spencer Silver are very amazing people, thank God for them. When I was a lot younger, I couldn’t really afford buying Post-its so I’d buy the cheapo versions. Sadly, hindi lahat ng mura ay sulit. After some months, the sticky notes would not be so sticky anymore, dinaan lang pala nila ako sa kulay. So when I got older, nag-aabang ako ng sale ng Post-its, which turned out to be exciting. (O baka masyado lang akong sabik basta may sale, no?)

I was in Muji two weeks ago and I saw the teeny tiny sticky notes again. Naka-sale! Wheeeeee! I saw these babies before and I thought P125 was too steep kaya tiniis ko. Pinatos ko na when I saw them again, marked down at 50% off. Muji tiny sticky notes na alam kong madaling mawala, come to mama!

Eeeeeekkkk! My work sheets for my students are going to be awesome, I can feel it. Thank you, teeny tiny sticky notes! Research is more fun with you.

My First Ever Crafternoon

Today, I attended a craft soiree in Pipino and we did friendship bracelets! Actually ako walang nagawa huhuhuhu. Wala, di ko talaga alam gagawin with friendship bracelets and I  realized that I’ve never really given it a try when I was younger. Ang pinaka crafts ko na would be the earrings making tsaka yung envelopes that I design. I’m probably the worst participant there this afternoon, pero ok lang, I’m happy na dumaan ako. Tomorrow, I’m going to get myself a copy of the Friendship Bracelet Book:

It’s from Summit Books and it’s very, very reasonably priced at P150. We were using one of these in the craft soiree and I really want to try all the projects in the book.

I met some people there too and I had fun talking to them while we were all clueless with what we were doing. Everyone was so nice and they all looked good! Grabe, ako na yata pinakapangit dun. Pero keri lang, no regrets.

The best part for me was meeting Alessandra Lanot! Syempre fangirl mode ako, highest level ng pagka-starstruck.

ANG TABA KO! Anyway, keri lang. I met Alessa Lanot!! At may new goal na ko in life: to finish friendship bracelets. Akala ko madali lang dati, kasi naman, kids make it look so easy.

Lezzzgowww and do more crafts, friends!

Oh craft!

Here’s a preview of some of the earrings that I delivered today in Pipino for this Saturday’s Craft Soiree event: (Click on each picture to enlarge.)

I got an email from Alessa Lanot last Monday and I swear, my heart skipped a beat! I am an Alessa Lanot fangirl, kaya nakakagulat at nakakatuwa at the same time na makakuha ng email mula sa kanya. Wheeee! I had to deliver twenty pairs of earrings before May 4 nga lang to be part of the craft exchange, so for two nights, yan ang pinagpuyatan ko. I made three pairs on the first night, I really couldn’t make anything dahil na rin siguro sa pagod. Kagabi, naigapang ko ang seventeen pairs! Yahoo!

♥ Dyosaimma

PS: I’ve never really had a “success story” when it comes to making earrings. I guess I’ve never really taken this hobby seriously. Pampawala lang ng stress, ganon. Forgive me for being this thrilled for this little project, which I hope will be the first of many, many exciting things. Wheeee!

Weekend!

For the first time ever, I am home alone. Hindi pa nakakauwi sila Mama so present tense pa rin yan ha. In fairness, fun pala! Take home work, done! That’s just the first of many things I was able to do for the past forty eight hours.

Yan, perfect for summer: colorful wooden bead necklace, red glass necklace, purple mega pendant, glass earrings and Year of the Dragon charm necklace.

I have no left over laundry! Hahaha. First time yatang mangyari sa akin ‘to. Wheeee!

Say hello to half of my version of rosemary chicken with chili. It’s like the adult version of Tokyo Cafe’s chicken stew, na ang tawag ko ay adobo ng sosyal. Basically, para syang chicken adobo without the vinegar and laurel leaves. Add some rosemary leaves and sliced siling labuyo. Isang pirasong sili lang ginamit ko though, kasi I didn’t eat it with rice and it was just an experiment. Putting a lot of garlic helps with the taste BTW. Go, try!

I also spent the weekend with Barney, Robin, Lily, Marshall and Ted! Amazingggggg. Natapos ko yung seasons one to four. Hihihihi. At Friday pa ko huling nagsuklay. May long weekend hangover pa ko!

Terrific Tuesday. (Shoot me if I post a “Wow Wednesday” entry tomorrow, okay?)

First day back at work after the longest weekend of 2012 and things were… sabaw.

Four things:

1) We had lunch at Banapple in Il Terrazo in Tomas Morato today and the staff completely forgot about my order. Sad face. Ayaw ko talagang magalit kasi Banapple is Banapple and I love it, no matter what. So I took the high road! I just asked for a feedback form and for their manager so I could talk to her. Burp.

2) The kuya in Gong Cha in SM North EDSA made me extra giddy! I forgot that I was having a migraine attack for a while because…

…he spelled my name right. Hahahaha. HAHAHAHA. Award.

3) Today is goodbye blackheads sa ilong day! I tried Skin Food’s Egg White Nose Pack.

It’s a lot cheaper than the nose strips available in Etude House but I like it more. When I used the Etude House blackhead strip, my blackheads were gone but my nose turned a shade lighter than the rest of my face and the blackheads were back after two days. Skin Food’s Egg White Nose Pack is supposed to be a “cooling down” strip so you’d have to put it on after pricking your nose. I don’t really know if there’s a good way to prick but the egg white nose pack was calming enough to close my pores. Egg white is supposed to tighten your skin anyway, so I guess the egg white nose pack works for me.

4) I’m a sale junkie and I score good deals because I’m always inside a mall. Wala, nakasanayan lang siguro? QueSci is at the back of SM North EDSA at ang pinakamadaling way papuntang UP para sa akin noon by commute ay dadaan ng SM North, hence the sale jackpots. I’ve been wanting to try to paint for months, so when I saw this today, I knew right then and there that I had to buy it:

Pag regular price, it costs P350. Pwede na diba? I always see patterns of animals and it’s not that I don’t like cute dogs, but I just want to work on something more exciting. May maliit na punit yung packaging and I asked the Fully Booked staff if they had stocks of this pattern, since may punit nya yung box. Since wala na silang nahanap, they just gave this one to me at 15% off. Punit ng box equals 15% discount. Thank you, Fully Booked. I will remember to give you a painting when I become an artist. Jusko kelan kaya yun. Hahaha.

It’s easy for me to relax.

Image

I am a beneficiary, or casualty, depends on how you look at it, of the summer book sale happening at National Book Store and Powerbooks until the 15th of April. Most of the books that I got were just P70–hard bound. Most books are used, but not abused. The paperbacks and the graphic books are all brand new, medyo mas mahal nga lang sa P70, pero mura pa rin! Hence the pile.

Covering books with plastic is a really big thing for me. It makes me calm and it gives me a sense of achievement. HAHAHAHA SORRY. Ang sarap kasi ng feeling ng book pag may cover na tsaka I don’t like to use a book without covering it first. Sorry, maarte. Maraming seremonyas pag maarte. Ganyan talaga. Hihi.

Anyway, I’ve ran out of plastic to cover all the books that I have. (Pwede ko kayang ipambalot ang mga tao? Marami namang plastic eh.) Good thing that it’s still a non-working holiday tomorrow and the book stores are open. The world understands the things that I need! Thank you!

That place where everything is cheap and where it pays to be friendly.

I could’ve bought a new pair of Fitflops (on sale) with P3000. But I went to Quiapo this morning and bought these instead:

  • The high five plastic thingamajigs for my students, you know, a high five for surviving another school year. Wheeee for year-end gifts! Kids like getting gifts ha, in fairness. (Pauso ko lang yan.)
  • The silver findings and new pliers are for my crafts! I bought more supplies, actually. I always buy my supplies in Quiapo, everything’s there! And I don’t really buy expensive tools since laruan ko lang naman. The tools that I have with me now are about five to seven years old. GAAHHHH. Ang tanda ko na. Anyway, heehee. Summer time is the time for crafts. Go lang ng go!
  • The bangles cost P48 per set. Shown in the picture are two sets. Yes, they’re made of wood. I love wooden bangles. Yun nga lang my arms are short. Are there stores that sell longer arms? Drop me a line ha. Kthanks.
  • The cheapo cellphone and iPod Touch cases cost P50 each. I’ve been seeing the cassette tape case in a lot of markets, pero mahal eh! P200! OA diba. Ayan, sa Quiapo mura lang. I also bought cases for Val the E6 (my phone). Mura eh. Tsaka sa mall walang available. (Bakit nga ba? May demand naman for E6 cases ah. Che.)
  • I got charms too! Mahilig sa charms si Mama so I got her one. I also bought two Year of the Dragon charms, na nakalimutan kong ibigay kanina. (Next time. Hihi.)
  • At syempre, Quiapo is for glasses! Wheeee! I got a new pair, the red one, for P1500. I got the black matte frames for my sister. Wala ng second thoughts, P450 lang eh. The owner of the store also gave me a little discount, siguro dahil nagandahan sya sa akin? Chos. Eh dinaldal ko kasi yung mga tindera. I think they remembered me because of the glasses that I was wearing, na sa kanila ko rin naman binili. Social skills put to a good use yun o! Naconvert sa discount. Heehee.

I’d like to think that I made the right decision sa Fitflops versus Quiapo shopping spree dilemma ko.

I guess it’s true: money can buy you happiness–if you spend it wisely. Or if you spend it in Quiapo. Wheeee!

Run, Imma, Run!

In terms of personal goals (anak ng tupa may nalalaman pa kong personal goals), medyo ariba ako this week.

Last Monday, may nag-cancel nung gabi so I was vacant kaya I tried running again. Umuwi ako ng mabilis and then I grabbed my stuff, then left. Zoom zoom zoom to UP, then run! Wheeee. I need that waistline demmet! Well bukod sa fitness reasons, I really love running. Kahit walking, mahal ko rin yun. Running and walking makes me calm kasi. Tsaka masarap yung feeling ng hangin sa magandang magandang fez ko, lalo na ngayon, February pa lang so the chill is still here.

Pag tumatakbo ako sa UP, dun ko lang nararanasang maging uhaw at busog at the same time. Literally uhaw, kasi syempre nakakauhaw tumakbo. Kebs. The point is, ang daming cute! Hihihihi. During the weekdays, umabot ako sa 10-20 cute guys na naispatan. Kanina naman, isang dosena sila. Thank you Lord! Thank youuuuu!

Hihi.

Anyway, see you in UP, dear cuties. Hihi.

Shuffle Trouble

I’ve come to love ironing clothes. I started doing this little chore when I was in third year high school, kasi I needed a way to practice walking in heels. Naka-heels at make up pa rin ako pag namamalantsa. I find ironing clothes on a Sunday night really, really relaxing.

So tonight, while I was busy with this:

and while I was enjoying the light of my life:

Bigla ba namang naging bastos yung iPod at ito ang pinili as first song when I put it on shuffle mode:

So instead na zen ako, instant emo ang peg habang nagpaplantsa. Minsan naiisip ko, sinadya ng Apple engineers na sadyang mapang-asar yung iPod pag naka-shuffle mode eh. Shuffle mode is like “I know what’s really going in your mind, so I’m going to play this song for you to realize that you can not run away from your thoughts.”

Puro buntong-hininga tuloy napala ko habang nagpaplantsa. Should I still thank Jason Mraz for reading my diary? Chos.

Beauty blogger discovery: electroanna.blogspot.com

I guess one of the things that I like about being interested with make up lately is that there is so much information available online, from the tips on how to put on red lipstick up to info on where to get the best tools, like cheapo make up brushes. I’ve developed a habit of searching through blogs with entries about make up tools and eyeshadow kits, kasi gusto ko ring makahanap ng magandang deal for new toys.

Isa sa mga discoveries ko tonight is http://electroanna.blogspot.com/. Pero hindi lang tungkol sa make up ang nadiscover ko through this blog. May chance pa akong manalo ng goodies! Hihihihi. Look at this:

I just love the fact that she’s giving away OPI nail polish! I really want to meet the girl behind this blog. She’s so young and yet she’s good with make up. Nung 19 ako wala akong kebs sa make up. One of which is electroanna. (Thank you for your posts!) You can read her whole post about her first ever blog giveaway here.

Here’s her first post that I’ve read:

Yuh, it’s about the cheap make up brushes that are available in Landmark. I’ve been researching about make up brushes at ang dami dami ko ng napuntahang blog. They’re cheap and they can deliver. I really have to get my own set!! Come on free time, come to mama! You can read Anna’s entry on Landmark make up brushes here.

I’m really loving how I’m learning a lot lately. Nakaka-overwhelm ang beauty blogs. Well, medyo naglalaway ako sa stash ng mga bloggers na nakikita ko online (like Anna). I probably should use their blog posts (and pictures of their make up stash) as inspiration.
