I was born Imma Semeona M. Frias; on December 08, 1988. Imma came from the word ‘immaculate’, not because I was born pure, but because I was born on the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion. I tried living up to my name but with such a thirst for adventure and love for being spontaneous, the whole thing became a bit of a challenge.
I’m from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) where I majored in life’s lessons on love, faith, hope, perseverance and happiness; UP is where, I believe, I learned to love coffee and it is where I also learned learned to park faster than you can say “parallel”. I spent the greatest four years of my academic life in Quezon City Science High School, where I fell in love, got hurt, and learned to be bitter for the first time; I have also memorized SM North EDSA by heart because of the four years that I’ve spent in Quesci. I harvested medals and honors as a grade school student in St. Mary’s College, and if I’ve known that I won’t be able to get more in other places, I would have eaten a live chicken for the deportment award.
I am a part-time personal tutor and I’m paid for helping students realize that they’re not supposed to depend on their tutors in the long run. I have old mental Math tricks that I also share with kids and kids at heart. I have a kick for designing accessories, bags and clothes; I’ve set up an on line store but I never really got to launch the site formally. Maybe I will, rather, I should. Before summer ends. Mmmkay.
I can play the guitar like a kid and I sometimes sing the melody that I play. I also have some moves with the drums and the piano, but I think my moves are really bad. Music is one of the things that prevents me from growing my fingernails long enough for me to write my full name on them using nail polish; in other words, it makes me harmless. I also like to scream when given the opportunity to hold the mic for the videoke. I have a thing for drag queen songs, I think I can be one when I want to. Someday.
I also have a number of hosting gigs and if given the chance, I’d love to do it as a profession, though I don’t think my parents will like me for that. My dream job is to be a mother and a housewife with a business; I’m hoping that I could open up a little inn, like a bed-and-breakfast sort of thing, with lots and lots of character in it. And in my little inn with lots and lots of character, I’d like to host weddings, parties and retreats for nice people. I also want to be a wedding planner—yes, I have true drama queen dreams in me.
This blog was born because I’ve always had the illusion that I have something to say that’s worthy of an audience; or it could also be because I had such a huge need for an impound lot where I could place all the emotional baggage that my industrial forklift couldn’t carry anymore. Kidding aside, I signed up for a new blog because I missed my old one (that I had to delete for damage control). I discontinued one of my previous WordPress blog because I thought it was too centered on Big (my almost lover hahaha) and I really, really want to change the way I write. Whoa. Well, Jessica Zafra and Chico Garcia inspired me to blog again, actually. (Hindi bola yan okayyyy.)
